Our ProcessWe're committed to working side-by-side with our clients to achieve the results they need. While it's true that no two projects are alike, there is a typical path that most of our projects follow. The process starts with an onsite needs and opportunity assessment that can be formal or informal depending on the size of your company. If an agreement to work together is reached, a proposal and contract outlining the scope of work, timeline, cost and expected outcomes will be prepared. Projects frequently develop into long term relationships and a typical initial phase might last six months. (Note that all contracts are cancellable at any time by either party with thirty days notice.) The next step is generally training in the principals of Lean manufacturing followed by process or "value stream" mapping (VSM). Areas for improvement are selected based on the VSM and the process moves to the implementation phase. OMEP consultants are typically onsite for a day or more each week. Completion of projects or phases lead to a place in the queue for a survey of results by an independent national firm twelve months after completion.
