Best Practices in Hiring and Training for Oregon Manufacturers

Creating effective hiring methods, improving communication, and onboarding people efficiently is at the core of building a great manufacturing business. Join PCC and OMEP for this 2-day training where we will examine ways to find and quickly get new employees up to speed, as well as keep existing employees motivated and engaged. This course includes a special focus on apprenticeships as a resource to combat workforce shortages. Throughout the course, we’ll build a plan for your company’s workforce challenges, and you’ll get a customized consultation to understand how to implement your workforce plan. You’ll learn what type of apprenticeship program could be right for you and hear from manufacturers who have successfully worked with apprentices.

YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO:

– Recruit and onboard new employees effectively

– Create employee training programs and compensation systems

– Keep employees motivated to solve problems and grow into leadership roles

– Create effective communication skills

– Build a custom apprenticeship plan to tap into this underutilized workforce
