Lunch and Factory Tour of A-Dec – Hosted by EMA

Join the EMA for this opportunity to view the local engineering and manufacturing facility at A-dec in Newberg Or. This local business opens its doors providing another opportunity to utilize our local resources. The Tour will focus on A-dec’s implementation of LEAN manufacturing principles. A-dec (Austin Dental Equipment Company) is a dental office furniture and equipment manufacturer based in Newberg. It is considered one of the largest dental equipment makers in the world, and is Newberg’s largest employer with 832 employees. Founded in 1964, the company’s products include items such as dental chairs, stools, delivery systems, medical lighting, cabinetry, and other accessories.
The Tour will focus on A-dec’s implementation of LEAN manufacturing principals and our host for the day will be Kelly DePaolo. Kelly has worked at A-dec since July of 2005 and started out in manufacturing and then transferred to the Continuous Improvement team in September of 2006. Starting out as a Continuous Improvement Specialist before moving into the role of CI Trainer. Today, Kelly is responsible for all CI training where she delivers the content and develops it as well. Kelly also facilitates Kaizen Events, Value Stream Mapping, PDCA’s, general everyday improvements and area needs help with.
On their Newberg campus, A-dec performs a large variety of different processes from machining raw material, powder coating, assembly and shipping, to engineering, customer service, product development, and marketing. Currently A-dec has over 1000 employee’s that work in Newberg and sell worldwide and their number one focus on all A-dec’s products is quality.
