Scaling Schmidt’s Naturals
August 23 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
8 years was all it took for Jaime Schmidt to turn her business Schmidt’s Naturals from a farmer’s market project to a nationwide success.
Back in 2010, Jaime Schmidt was just starting up work on her line of natural body care products. She spent a lot of time at farmers markets around Portland, selling her plant- and mineral-based deodorants directly to consumers and gathering continuous feedback from a small but rapidly growing group of supporters. In our intimate, maker-driven community, this process allowed her to rapidly revise and perfect her product.
By 2015, she had the attention of interested backers who helped get her products onto the shelves at outlets from local co-ops to Whole Foods Market. Fast-forward just three more years and Schmidt sold her baby to Unilever, expanding the availability of Schmidt’s Naturals to an international audience.
Come hear Schmidt speak about her journey from early days through the pain points of scaling to a larger and larger market and all the way to the big sell in what is sure to be an inspirational event.
