Here comes Manufacturing Day!
Home 9 Business Financials & Strategy 9 Here comes Manufacturing Day!

Manufacturing careers are a vital part of our local economy, so we want to celebrate our builders, makers, and creators on October 1st 2021, and throughout the month of October.  Manufacturing Day is a chance to show students what modern manufacturing looks like within your business, and to get them excited about a future career that they may not know is possible.

Before participating in Manufacturing Day, I equated manufacturing with standing on an assembly line, wearing a hard hat, or driving a forklift. I had no idea the breadth of opportunities available to me both in terms of industries and job types. -SP MHS senior/Scholarship winner 2020

School to Career has provided Manufacturing Day Bus Tours since 2014. We’ve connected hundreds of students with manufacturing businesses and showed them a new vision for their futures.  This year we will celebrate in a virtual format as we continue our tradition of providing a National Manufacturing Day experience.  While we can’t do bus tours, we are happy to offer you several ways to reach interested students – you can be listed (and linked) in our directory, volunteer to judge our scholarships, or host Manufacturing Month Career Events! Career Events will be approximately 45 minute long Zoom meetings where you can showcase your business and the careers available to students.  We will help you choose a date, give you a suggested agenda, register the students, and manage the meeting. Career Events are a fun and easy way to connect with students, you can have a conversation, give a tour, or do a simple activity – we’re here to help make it what you want it to be! Each participating Manufacturer will have a FREE directory listing on our webpage that will include: your logo, a link to your website, and a link to your hiring page. If you would like to have more impact, you can write a short article describing the company, encouraging future employees, or spotlighting members of your team. Please look at the linked Sponsorship Application form for details.
