About the Awards
This prestigious award has been presented by the Portland Business Journal to deserving manufacturers across the state. They have expanded the categories over the years to include an excellence in training category, green / sustainable category, and more.
Oregon Business recently announced a groundbreaking new survey that will rank the 100 Best Manufacturers to Work for in Oregon. The survey is an offshoot of their well-regarded 100 Best Companies to Work for in Oregon project, which ranks employers (mostly professional services firms) on a variety of workplace practices.
The 100 Best Manufacturers survey is open exclusively to manufacturing businesses. Participating companies will gain insight into employee attitudes, learn about the latest workplace trends and gain recognition for best workplace practices. Oregon Business will honor the winners during an awards ceremony.
Patrick R. Murphy Award
Established in 2011, this award was named for Patrick R. Murphy following his career, which was dedicated to driving Oregon’s manufacturing industry forward. During his 10 years as Executive Director of OMEP, he grew the organization to become Oregon’s leading advocate for small- and medium-sized manufacturers. The award also celebrates the continued partnerships Murphy formed on OMEP’s behalf with public and private organizations such as Business Oregon and the Pacific Northwest Defense Coalition. Ultimately this award recognizes outstanding leadership among Oregon’s top manufacturing professionals. We present this award each year at the Oregon Manufacturers’ Summit, following final approval from the OMEP Board of Directors.
